2026/27 MPS After School Lottery Results

2026/27 MPS After School Lottery Results

Dear Families,

Thank you to all families who expressed interest in our MPS After School care. Not only were we able to expand capacity at all schools for the 2026/27 school year, we were also able to exceed our enrollment projections at all schools to best meet the demand from our families.

The results from the MPS After School Lottery can be found here. Students are listed via their LASID number, which is the 5-digit number students use to purchase school lunch and can be found on their report cards.

Families Who Received A Spot

Any family who submitted the Re-Registration of the Lottery Request Google Forms were placed into the lottery. All students from the McGlynn, Missituk, and Roberts Elementary Schools received a spot in our MPS After School program. A lottery was ran at the Brooks for all grade levels except Grade 5 due to demand and enrollment capacity.

Tomorrow morning by 12 p.m., families who have received a spot into the program will receive an email from before-afterschool@medford.k12.ma.us with:

  •  Enrollment Contract Google Form to fill out
  •  A link to FACTS and sign up instructions, our online payment system for MPS After School (tuition will not be charged until August).

Please be sure to fill out the enrollment contract and sign up for FACTS when that email goes out tomorrow morning (check your spam folder for that message as well). Re-registered families will not need to make another FACTS account for next year, but will need to fill out the enrollment contract for each child.

Families must accept their spot (by submitting Enrollment Contract & creating family FACTS Account) into MPS After School by June 1, 2026.

Waitlisted Families

Given the demand and capacity limitations, a waitlist for next school year will exist at the Brooks Elementary School school. The waitlist order will remain the same order throughout the school year and will be made public on the MPS After School website via student LASID numbers next week. If a waitlisted family is invited to the program and declines a spot, they will be removed from the waitlist.

Please note that as we continue to appropriately scale our MPS After School program, it is our goal to shrink the need for a waitlist in the coming years. Additionally, waitlisted families, offered in order of the waitlist, will receive partial schedule opportunities based on program enrollment as they arise beginning in June. Waitlisted families will also receive an email from before-afterschool@medford.k12.ma.us tomorrow with more information.

Next Steps

New enrollment (families who did not fill out the Lottery Request or Re-Registration Form) in our After School program will be frozen until at least June 2, 2026 to allow families who received a spot in the lottery to register for next school year. This will allow us to review enrollment numbers and see program availability across our four schools while balancing the waitlist.

The before school lottery will take place in June.

For information on our MPS After School program, including capacity increases and updated tuition, please view this presentation.

With questions, please contact before-afterschool@medford.k12.ma.us

Sincerely,

Dr. Suzanne B. Galusi, Superintendent
